Location matters more in a personal injury case than most people expect.

Where an injury happened can affect venue, which public entities or insurers are involved, and the deadlines that apply. In New York, venue may depend on where the parties reside or where a substantial part of the events occurred.

Nassau County

Most of our work is here, and Freeport sits close to the middle of the South Shore. Towns and villages we regularly serve include:

Suffolk County

We take cases across Suffolk, including Amityville and the surrounding South Shore communities. A Suffolk case can mean a longer drive for us, and it changes nothing about how the case itself is handled.

Queens

Queens sits directly west of us, and accidents there are common for Long Island residents commuting into the city. We handle cases in Far Rockaway and throughout the borough.

A note about claims against a city, town, or county

If a municipality may be responsible — a poorly maintained road, a defective sidewalk, a public bus — the deadline is far shorter than an ordinary personal injury claim. A notice of claim generally has to be filed within 90 days (General Municipal Law §§ 50-e, 50-i). Missing it can end an otherwise strong case, so it's worth a phone call early rather than late.
